M33 the "Pinwheel Galaxy." This is an early image taken with the 30-inch Carroll telescope. It was taken by George Moyan and Roy Ensign on October 7, 1963 using Kodak 103aO film and exposing for 20 minutes. The original 4x5-inch negative showed that the un-vignetted image circle for the Carroll telescope was a full 4-inches, resulting in a field of view of 1.3 degrees at the Newtonian focus.
